Kill them damn spiders? Seriously, I think that what you have happening is your humidity is too high and the mycelium is trying to colonize the air.

If you mean cobweb mold then make a solution up in a spray thing with lots of boiling water and maybe a cap or less of bleach or whatever. Always works. Though it may inhibit the growth of the mycelium on the top layer if it is too concentrated, in which case when the mold has not come back scrape some of the verm/whatever off and water.
