what is the difference between these two posts, and why was i banned, but zappa was not?

The ironic thing was that i was posting in general terms like that to prove the point that posting in general terms is still flaming.


i guess i was right.


NWhy do the shroomery mods have such a hard time applying the rules equally instead of all this bullshit picky choosy enforcing the rules randomly at thier convienience?

How do you mods and admins ever expect anyone to respect your rules if the mods pick and choose when they want to enforce them and when they let thier friends slide all the time?

I'd first like to point out if you read the description of this subforum "this is not a forum to contest disciplinary action. Please use our support ticket system for such matters, providing as much related information as possible.". It's not my job to care I'm sure that was put there 'cause too many people use to complain and probably because it's annoying also I think you'd like to know the more appropriate place to dispute your problem.

Anyway, as far as your problem goes, I do think that if one of us is being treated unfairly we all are. I can sympathize with what you're saying, though do you really care that Zappa didn't get "disciplined" or do you just care because you were? I think this place is relaxed about the rules typically no moderation action is necessarily unless to many people have a problem and complain, also keep in mind it's not like the moderators are going to read  EVERY single post made, so maybe shroomery really does need another moderator is that's what you're suggesting, somebody like rail_gun as I said wouldn't be too bad.

Depending on what you say next ill be able to further expand on your complaint and maybe we can resolve your issue. Though I'm not a moderator I just try to help people clarify their issues, I can't help if this thread gets locked or whatever.

I'd expect people to understand that the moderators are human beings doing a thankless job in their spare time for free.


If you don't like something we do, talk to us. We're on hand because the admins believed and continue to believe that we are reasonable people.

If you can't work it out with the mod, submit a support ticket (that's your recourse).

If you don't like the way the support ticket is answered by the people who are running the site, you're shit out of luck. Best either make peace with it or find a new place to hang out.



For the record, I'd say a fair portion of everyone I've ever had to talk to has immediately assumed that I was deliberately trying to fuck them over, despite my never having interracted with them personally prior to it.

To the rest of you that are capable of having a civil conversation, thanks, you're the reason this is still tolerable.

Op is right. Those big old buttheads Bend the rules just enough to insult people, and then when they get insulted back they act offended as if they didn't mean to provoke you. Only fagbutts play around like that. real men let each other know plain and simple when someone's being a bimbo.

No you're wrong imo. No one is bending a rule. The rule is specific as to what a personalism or a flame is.  As I said in that thread to the OP. Those rules were created by admin specifically. If they had wanted to change them they've had plenty of chance over the years to hear the dissenting views on them. They haven't. That means to  me that that is what they want. Zappa didn't make the rules. Shins doesn't make the rules. If you want to make the rules start your own web site and be the king.

He was talking to me and I don't regard that as in violation of the rules. 


  You come off kind of overbearing at times.  Maybe if you just tried talking to Phred and Pris like a normal human being you'd get a better understanding of where they draw the line.

Why would you come here to bitch?  you're complaining to the people that run the site that the people running the site shouldn't be running the site.  Thats like complaining to the president that politicians are corrupt and shouldn't be running things.  Its just nonsensical.

the first singled out the group of people concerned with drug laws

the second singled out the group of people using a nickname

both referred to groups of people and no one in particular.

im trying to make the point that subversively flaming someone using general terms is just an underhanded loophole that always gets let go (except when i do it)

its obvious who the posters are referring to when they say it.


then when it trolls me and i outright flame the guy i get booted.

im not saying i should be flaming at all,  but it really seems like the mods always let it go when the guy flame baiting is someone they agree with or are good friends with.
