I used to have a copy of Aleister Crowley's Goetia which is a book that contains instructions on how to invoke/evoke many demons.  The demons in this book are really just old pagan gods that were labeled demons by the Catholic church in order to strike fear into people's hearts.  It's based on an old book called the Lesser Key of Solomon the King which was written in the 16th century that of course purports to be much older than it actually is, like a lot of Christian literature.  It's also actually the most comprehensive volume on demonology out there. Much of the knowledge we have on "Satanism" is just a lot of pomp and circumstance thrown on ancient paganism by the Catholic church.  The Church of Satan is even worse than these people who really are just pagans but don't know it.  They are atheists who just want to grab some attention from Christians by calling themselves Satanists, just to piss people off.  It's really childish.

I think Wicca is a much more interesting subject than Satanism because it just reconstructs the ancient Earth based pagan religions around an occult template that can be compared to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a magical order that also inspired Aleister Crowley's Thelema.
