There was a brief 'rest' period.

8/7 time?  Who knows..


Definately silence.




Suddenly, the pace changes... to a kind of steadiness...  4/4 time?  Maybe as a simplistic base foundation to allow for a variety of time instances to co-exist..




Then it started...  Faint at first...  Picking up intensity as the metronome 'steadily ticked' away.

Just kid-ding. Sheesh. Lots of people will think that you are sinister one way or the other with a goat-headed-guy that has a torch on it's head, pointing at crescent moons and such. Not that the characters that I see in Miami who have gore-dripping crucifixes or other suffering Jesus tattoos seem to be spiritual men belonging to a Christian faith, mind you. Those kinds of individuals seem to be violent beings who are either manifesting their 'Shadow' (gentle Jesus), or somehow are symbolizing the violence behind Jesus' suffering.

Hey, I've had a lot of analytical training and I can't help but see psychological contents projected outwardly in tattoos. The only question I have is 'which aspects are being portrayed?' More often than not, when I've asked people 'why?,' they give very incomplete responses and sometimes are annoyed (unless one flatters their ego first) because they really don't know why they've selected something to be permanently on their skin. "I just like it," they say, and I leave it at that.

I'm glad you said against as opposed to 'instead of straight time'.  I can, with considerable ease, demonstrate the slamming of triplets throughout straight time. Throw those against a steady drum beat, and you've got yourself a killer riff!

Well, right now I'm just brainstorming ideas, nothing is definite yet. I know so far that I want to get a sleeve on my right arm, with only black ink. I plan to get custom art done (as soon as I get meet up with a respectable artist) with an overall surreal/bizarre theme. The reason I want to inscribe images with this theme onto my skin is because I think that it metaphorically represents the obscure perspective with which I have always viewed the world around me. You're right about people using the "I just like it" cop-out answer when asked about their tattoos though, I have many friends with crosses and other Christian-themed tattoos that don't really seem to take their religion seriously, let alone have an understanding of it.
