yes... but if you have the will to resist stealing the meds and you've never
had a drug related arrest then yes, if you cant resist swiping the meds then
you'll end up with a rug related arrest

yes i kno its near to impossible with the way the red tape is setup for a pharmacist to get away with stealing the meds. but since im a college dropout its really hard to get a job with no education so finishing my schooling is looking like a good option. i havent been arrested since i was 16 and it wasnt drug related

of they cant pull anything that shows you as an addict then it shouldnt be hard
getting the job once you finish school, keeping may be more difficult for you

There are no laws against an ex-addict becoming a pharmacist.

Actually, its illegal to discriminate against drug users or ex-addicts.

GO to university, get your master's and become a pharmacist.

If there's no record of you being a junkie then there should be no problem.  That said you have to do well for two semesters of chemistry, two semesters of organic chemistry, two semesters of calculus, and some biology and physics, among other things.  Then get into pharmacy school and get through that.  Good fucking luck

I know an ex junkie that's a pharmacy tech. I know he still struggles with not swiping pills.:shrug:

Ohh right.... That is why pre-employment drug testing is illegal.

It is not illegal to discriminate against drug users. It is actually government mandated in the United States that drug users not be allowed to do certain work, and governmentally encouraged that drug users be denied employment.

unless they have some special relationship that allows them access to medical
record, which is possible, then you should be in the clear. some places like
that may have you sign a release that allows them to look into insurance and
medical history

They keep track of the medication that people are likely to steal. Like if it's just some blood pressure medicine or something they don't really pay that much attention. The inventory is just estimated. However for something like adderall or oxys they know how many are in stock down to the pill.

In the US its not illegal, where I'm from it is.

We don't have any interest denying jobs to addicts. It would only increase crime and result in them going to jail. That wouldn't be fair.

Therefore, its illegal to discriminate against drug users.

Yeah, a release would be the only way. Otherwise HIPPA laws regarding medical records privacy would prevent anyone from accessing that information.

edit: even then, there's no centralized database of medical records. They'd need to know who to contact. Though insurance is another issue. I do believe there is a centralized database of insurance records, but I'm not familiar with it. I only dealt with insurance payments and medical records at my old job.

with the US it's not a government interest, it's an insurance one. insurance
companies dont want to ensure for any liability, any company that hires drug
users which is why the tests are mandatory in many places, other pay the
higher premiums and dodge the testing because they know many of their
applicants and even best workers use drugs. the real drawback at least for
the user is that if you get hurt, they'll test you for workers comp and it
may not pay
