We should make a shroomery movie!

I think it'd have to be more of a montage than a coherent work...

To the op, it seems as though all of television has become intolerable, but I suppose the same thing can be said about pop-culture as a whole.

which is why i completely avoid it
no television no radio no news
much easier to wake up every morning

idk boondock saints just seems like a high school version of pulp fiction if that makes any sense

its not the first movie that features 2 guys with guns and time manipulation lol but i suppose. the stories at heart are exact opposites though. boondock saints is about vigilantes doing what they believe to be "gods word" while the fbi and towns people fight over weather they are right or wrong and pulp fiction is about 2 hitmen,a coke head, bruce willis, and african anal rape

the last three words made me bust out laughing

pulp fiction is just hard to beat
i hated it the first time i saw it
but it grew on me
just dont like boondock saints

Or what about the bible readings before executing a mother fucker?
That's the first similarity that came to my mind.
Both movies had the characters reciting some sinister-sounding old testament shit moments before icing their victim.

i didnt even think of that similarity. i would say thats the closest similarity though. but in pulp fiction jules does it just because he "thought it was some cold blooded shit to say to a mother fucker before he busted a cap in their ass" and they said it because theyre irish and irish people being the religion mother fuckers they are have family prayers so itd make sense that theyd say the prayed before executing somebody

they're doing them all again, judge dredd is being redone, total recall is to
be released again soon, then you've got the productions like  Abraham Lincoln
Vampire Hunter and the rip off produced and released just prior, Abraham Lincoln Vs. The Zombies

hollywood has no creativity, people dont demand more or better

makes sense
establish a baseline which people think is good
set the bar low
and people will accept is as being what's great!

Movies are getting worse because people are getting stupider.

i think a lot of people have always been stupiderrer but now it's becoming embraced/popular.

Ever since the late 80's, it's been cool to be stupid as long as you had attitude. I just want to slap someone with a "cool" attitude.

It's because we have gotten older.

It's harder for me to tune out and just enjoy the film now without noticing how awful the dialogue is, stupid the story is, or how terrible the acting is. As a kid you are taken where the movie wants you to go which is why they market most of the blockbusters to the 20-under crowd.

I don't watch movies nearly as much as I used too. When I do I try my best not to put on my adult hat and just enjoy it....but usually happens that takes me out of it :nonono:

I think it's an illusion. I think what's happening is that we tend to remember and focus on the good movies that came out in the past, giving the impression that movies used to be better.  The more time passes, the more we forget the crappy movies.  There have been a lot of great movies in the past decade.

because people are lazy and just want to make remakes and the people who watch movies dont seem to give a fuck about how good a movie is.

if you want to see some good movies i would

oldboy
i saw the devil
"carlos"
boondock saints
hachi
the horseman (australian revenge movie not american horror movie)
brave heart
apocalypto get the gringo
anything with mel gibson
tucker and dale vs evil

not really any new movies that are good at least not that i know of although the new batman looks pretty good. avengers sucked as did transformers.
try watching breaking bad as well awsome show

i strongly suggest i saw the devil pretty intense movie that will leave you with alot of mixed feeling in a good way

i thought boondock saints was a ripoff of pulp ficton :smilingpuppy:

i don't watch televison. shit makes me brain destroy its own cells.
i might check out the others though.

everything is so subjective however. you might think the movies i like suck
my favorites include (but not limited to:)
lord of the rings
fight club
sin city
fear and loathing
2001 a space odyssey/clcokwork orange
natural born killers
slc punk

and on and on

actually i have all those except 2001 space odessy been wanting to watch that

a few others you migth like then are 12 monkeys and i dont know if youve seen reservoir dogs but that movie is better than pulp fiction in my opinion but they are both great also the last castle is really good.

i watched a 3 episode miniseries on netflix 2 days ago called "carlos" about a venezuelan terrorist its a pretty good 6 hours long but entretaining and i dont watch tv either but you should give breaking bad a try i watch it online it is definately the most badass show out there better than the sopranos which is also really good
