Yes it's a real movie, and yes that's a still frame from it

That one is pretty fucked up. But if we’re going into the seventies films im going with Last House on the Left and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Both of those are indeed fucked but I feel ISOYG tops them both just a tad. It's like Last House on steroids (the rape scene).

Niffla said: I'm a lightweight when it comes to stuff like this. I've seen some scenes/bits & pieces of shit like Cannibal Holocaust and Gummo. It's not my cup of tea to willingly want to be disturbed. I mean even Enter the Void I found relatively/somewhat disturbing and I doubt that comes even close to some of this other shit.
Let's see...I did see Requiem for a Dream. That was so long ago I barely remember anything from it. I saw an early Faces of Death film when I was like 9 years old that honestly kinda fucked me up and stayed with me forever. Also accidentally stumbled into a genuine cartel torture video (I know, not the same thing because it's not a movie) at a boxing message board of all places. That fucked me up, man.
I do want to see Clockwork Orange at some point (I've seen a few scenes from it).
There is absolutely nothing disturbing about a clockwork orange lol.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is badass and one of the only true horror films IMO... It actually does qualify as disturbing. What's funny tho, is the satire black comedy TCM part 2 is actually more what Tobe Hooper wanted to make with the original. It only turned out the way it did because he didn't have the money to make part 2.
I had The Last House on the Left on blu ray for years and ended up selling it without watching... have been aware of Spit On Your Grave for a long time but never watched. I got really tired of watching extended rape scenes in horror a while back, cus its a basic trope in certain sub-genres and there's a lot of rape in these movies. I was interested in watching the films due to their importance in the genres, but I've had my fill of watching long rapes...
Kinda the same thing with a lot of these "disturbing" movies... I'm not very interested any more in watching stuff if its just a long stream of disgusting acts with nothing else going on. There was a time when I found the idea kind of exciting for its own sake, but its just kind of boring now to sit through 1.5+hrs of that
I prefer actual films with crazy stuff mixed in, something along the lines of Takashi Miike

Also of related interest, Wes Craven said he never watched movies prior to making Last House on the Left due to his upbringing in a very strict religious household. He went to college studying philosophy, also at a very religious school. Last House was the product of a guy brought up super religious, and coming out of a religious college with a philosophy major...

TLDR,
A Serbian film hits is rather emotionally fucked with its grotesque sexual drive In that regard Salo, 40 days of sodom is more depraved and more honest.
Cannibal holocaust kills animals and almost kills people.
Any graphic pornography you watch is probably honestly more sick than any movie you’ve watched.
The guy unknowingly fucked his infant child to death? That’s fake and sick and all. The video of a bitch getting caned into tears? Much hotter, much realer. Pick your poisons

speaking of GG, the newish documentary that came out on Showtime is really good. Its the opposite of disturbing though - an actual look at GG & family as human beings: GG Allin: All in the Family (2017)
You (everyone) should prob watch philosophy. The "artistic recreation" is very much like a NIN video.. but projecting ultimate violence documentary in a sick and Very creepy style and setting. About halfway thru it shows this woman getting her teeth pulled out one by one.. I had to turn it off.. shit was making me sick. Especially sick knowing it isnt fantasy or imagination. These things really happened to the unfortunate ones held captive at unit 731. History is always the most brutal.
And Im def gunna check out that gg allin shit so thanks for shining that light. The Guy was nuts AF but he def keeps the reputation as one of the biggest scum fucks that ever walked this earth.. crazy motherfucker pussed out on his dream of suicide on stage but his memory still lives. Not sure hes the god of rock but he is definitely immortalized in a way..

Haven't seen it so I wouldn't know. But I've seen a lot of people say that it was -- at least to them anyway.
Right here in this thread, too.

There are different kinds of disturbing
Some kinds of disturbing require more thought engagement than simple visual disgust

I second A Serbian Film, fucking disturbing, although I don't normally watch a movie like this, came upon it by accident and didn't know what the hell I got myself into.

Another great Combs I watched recently is From Beyond, where a scientist creates a machine that activates your pineal gland and allows you to see 5th dimensional entities... pretty crazy flic with some good old gore.

Lol how did you come into watching that by accident? This is a film that's banned in several countries isn't it?
I mean surely you just didn't stumble into it on the Hallmark Channel or something lol

Clockwork Orange was shocking when it came out. Now the scenes of "ultraviolence" and the accompanying music just seem slapstick to me. The political implications of the movie are still interesting.
Blue Velvet was a shocker on first viewing. It's not the most disturbing movie ever, but it's a definite contender for best made disturbing film.
