Cop Tasers Girl; Girl now Brain-Dead

http://www.ToxicCops.com - The Florida Highway Patrol have cleared 267-pound Trooper Daniel Cole of wrongdoing and have released a disturbing dash cam video that captured him tasing a 100 pound, 20 year old handcuffed girl in the back as she fled.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement determined Trooper Daniel Cole's "use of force" was justified when he tased the woman last September at the FHP Pinellas Park Substation and cleared him of wrongdoing.

The fleeing woman, Danielle Maudsley, 20, suffered severe brain damage after hitting her head on the concrete and has been in a persistent vegetative state ever since.



The video shows Maudsley fleeing a back door of the substation with Cole following closely behind.

Maudsley was arrested for her alleged involvement in two hit-and-run crashes and driving without a license.


Cole brought Maudsley to the substation to complete his paperwork before taking her to the Pinellas County Jail, according to FHP reports.



As she enters the parking lot, Cole deploys his taser and Maudsley hits the ground hard, with her head slamming into the asphalt.

Your title is very misleading, somewhat akin to saying "Pedestrian pushes girl; girl now braindead." Seems like you're trying to fool people into believing the "push" force itself caused brain damage...not the hard concrete in what amounts to a freak accident.

OK so it would have been OK if the cop had tackled her to the ground, and during the scuffle she hit her head? That would have been the alternative to tasing her...so I don't see the problem. She was running from the police after being arrested, and she got tased. Unlucky for her that she hit her head but that isn't the cops fault.

I don't think it should be considered appropriate force just because he can't run like a cop that's in shape. Let this be a lesson to us all. Don't ever run from a fat cop people: you'll get hurt.
A tackle would've reduced momentum. Less Injury. If any.

If you're conscious, it's instinctive to break your fall in whatever way you can (protect your head). She would've still been conscious in a tackle. The worst that can happen is his fatass crushes her and breaks an arm/leg/rib.

no. say that girl was running away at 10 MPH. A fit police officer, in a dead sprint, is probably running somewhere between 16-20mph. Tackling that girl to the ground at 15+ MPH definitely could have caused serious life threatening injuries if the circumstances of the fall happened to play out that way. For example, if the girl went to the ground and hit her head, exactly like she did from being tased.

You never know, dude. Tasers are effective at stopping people dead in their tracks. Once the officer subdues the suspect, they could start to fight the officer. A taser removes this risk. It's totally fine by me. Not saying this isn't a really sad story, but it's just an accident. That stupid bitch shouldn't have ran. Her fault.

Then he's only approaching her @ 5mph. In catching her, the officer automatically reaches her speed (10 mph) as he slows. Then the struggle further diminishes speed before impact, cuz she'll be trying to go forward, and the cop downward. Opposing forces.Barely a fender tender. And on top of that, I still say her being conscious would've done somethin to save her head.

But in any case, we agree she was brain-dead long before that cop vegetated her, haha.

there has been an awful lot of deaths by tasing for people involved in non-violent crimes.  Taser should be a LAST resort.  She wasn't violent; so why tase her'?  Tasing where someone dies is the analog of an armed swat team breaking into a home and shooting someone dead for a marijuana charge.

She deserved it. It's real simple. Don't run from the police, you'll never have to worry about being tazed. I don't get it. Just do what they say, don't answer questions or volunteer information, and be respectful. You'll be much better off.
