Tyvek Question

Does it matter if you use the colored section of a tyvek envelope? I had some tyvek envelopes delivered to me (free of charge by the post office), and I so far have only used the white section, but I was wondering if the ink or dye or whatever the fuck they use has any effect on growing. I'm affraid that PC'ing it will make the coloration bleed and drip down on the wbs. Plus my yeild of filters per envelope would go through the roof! :smirk:

Colors within tyvek do not run upon PCing. The dyes have no effect on the operation of the filter and are therefore irrelevant. There is some argument as to which side should face up. I have witnssed no variation in colonization speeds with all possible combinations of aligning the filters (using two separated by the lid). If you have to see through the tyvek to innoculate with a syringe then the colors on the material come into play.
