Dried shrooms from wet shrooms

the general rule is dried mushrooms are 1/10 the wet weight. to me it seems more then this. any time i have a wet weight when completely cracker dry it weighs less. recently i had a 90 gram wet harvest. after fan drying for 36 hours and drying chamber for 36 hours they weighed out to about 6.5 grams dry.

the only time i've ever eaten fresh mushrooms i ate 24 wet grams of eq grown off pf cakes. i barely felt shit, so my guess is in reality i only ate about a gram.

You guys find that this happens too?

I found that it's more or less 1/12 of the weight dried over fresh. 90 grams fresh yeild me around 7.5 grams dried.

Apperantly it veries. I just got 80 grams fresh of koh samui that dried to be 16g. I think 1/10th is just average.

That's right. Because fresh shrooms will change their weight over time (gain water/loose water). While dried will keep their weight constant.
