Personal responsibility
    #1553993 -

Is personal moral responsibility something more than a value judgement made by an individual? Is it something unpredictable, un-analyzable and metaphysical?

I don't think so. You are your current set of values, literally, and any value judgement you make is a manifestation of your being, however transient and momentary it may be.

I say that moral responsibility has nothing to do at all with the question of whether human choices can be completely free of external influences or not.

That sounds like something interesting to think about for a bit...  Can you perhaps re-state it in other words... perhaps another vantage point as well ?

I see what you are sayin. Society imposes values upon you, and you are looked down upon if you break a good amount of social norms.

What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

I think you are correct, another way of putting it is "As a man thinketh, so he is.".
