Discussions on the "comfort zone"

The comfort zone, which i call it - is the area or mentality of life in which we normally, for the most part, filter our experiences through and live through. It is a combination of false securities (false because security in itself is an illusion), insecurity itself (clinging to sources of security only exists because of insecurity, obviously), and ignorance (ignorance because if you can see things as they are, there is no insecurity)


I personally believe that the truest love and compassion come from leaving the comfort zone. Also, the greatest spiritual experiences come from leaving this zone as well.


Leaving it can be pure bliss, or pure hell. It depends on probably many factors, some being how much you cling to your security senses, how insecure you are, and how ignorant you are.

You get to the edge of your comfort zone.

You start feeling something; cause this is new territory.

You're afraid...



.....but you already made the decision.. You're going forward.

You take a DEEP breath.

You take the bull by the horns. You feel the fear, and do it anyways!



You've found courage.



You go for it!

You realize...
Wow! That wasn't so bad..


You feel comfortable again.


You look ahead.


You see something else you like.
You make another decision.



.....THe cycle starts again.

In general I don't.  I have to force it, but I have found that the real adventures of life occur when I do.  I try and it's worth it :grin:

Nice post. I have a habit of dwelling in comfort zones, or attatching myself to people I find comfort with. I'll eventually start to move again, but once I get so far I settle myself a little *too* deep. But eventually, as Deiymiyan said, ".....THe cycle starts again."

And I do agree, it is the transitional state,
with the new experiences, where I feel most alive... :smile:

I wish I had a comfort zone... it's like every time I'm close, something rips me away... so now I don't even bother trying to clear everything up... I just ride the god damn wave like a champ. I just try to avoid the tsunamis.

I think once you get comfortable, you begin to decay.. you stop (or slow down) whatever makes life worth living..

a layer of rust begins to form on your perspective of life

I see so many people so attached to their lifestyle.  and maybe that's good for them, I don't know, but I have issues with it. 

but here's another comfort zone:
the zone in which you're afraid of comfort zones. :smile: you become comfortable in that place as well..    so I gotta keep on my toes.
