Your post-workout shake recipe!
    #15128542 -

What is yours? Anyone have ones WITHOUT adding supplements??

Here is mine:

2 eggs,milk,honey,bannana,some kind of juice and/or kiwi.

Correct me if im wrong, which i could easily be.
I add the honey and juice in to raise my insulin level so my body will absorb glucose faster to feed my cells. Which also helps take in protein faster.

Anyways. What is your recipe? Mines pretty good and im wanting to see if i could add anything else.

Point of the post is that you do not need to buy whey protein.

I usually just eyeball the amounts but the gist is:

1/2 cultured milk, flavored optional
1/2 some kind of juice I happen to have in the fridge
handful of strawberries
honey drizzled in while it's blending
30g Hydrolyzed Whey

If I'm not going to be eating within the next hour-ish I add a tbsp or two of peanut butter in there.

I work at a health food smoothie shop so if you need any ballin recipes just ask meh.

One or more of the following: water, milk, flax/almond/coconut "milk"
Banana
Sprig of kale
Handful of raw almonds
Scoopa powda
Serving of frozen berries
Serving of frozen fruits
Sometimes I'll add a sprinkle of cinnamon

That's it, usually in that order too.  I have found it mixes the best that way.  The yield is usually about 3-4 cups of deliciousness.

I drink that daily to keep me regular... On days I don't workout I skip the protein powder.

small handfull of almonds
large handfull spinach leaves
2 bannanas
3 kiwi or 2 oranges or 1 pineapple
1 tea spoon spirulina powder
2 cups of water

Blend and enjoy!

Is that stuff that great?  I've read a little bit about it just wondering if you notice a diff when you take it...

I would say yes. When I use it regularly, I definitellly notice an improvement in mood, energy levels and overall health and well being. But I always use it in conjuncture with some other foods and methods to improve my health. It is consider a superfood, it contains a lot of aminoacids and minerals. If you're fasting or on some strict diet, you can be sure that spirulina will insure that you're never missing anything important for your health. You can get it pretty cheap on ebay, so I think it's worth a try.

Preworkout (45 mins prior):
1 cup milk
5g glutamine
25g whey protein isolate
cup of coffee or sugar free energy drink

During workout:
water mixed with 50g maltodextrin and gatorade powder

Immediately after workout:
50g dextrose
5g creatine
5g glutamine
2g taurine
1 packet koolaid mix

carry powder in shaker, add water

15-20 mins later:
2 cups milk
50g whey protein isolate (2 scoops)
15g hydrolyzed whey protein isolate (slightly under 1 scoop)

And an hour later a big meal.

I try and take 20g supplemental glutamine a day, plus 5g creatine.  I spread my glutamine in 4 doses, wake up, before workout, after workout, and before bed.  on days i odnt workout, I split it between wake up and bed time.  I have found that by taking 25g micellar cassein protein mixed with 5-10g glutamine before bed, I dont wake up with that flat muscle feeling.  The cassein is a slow release protein, so it ensures my body has a steady flow of amino acids throughout the night.
