God that would be the sickest bayonet ever!!!, hit a pressure switch like a crimson trace operates and flings it out, silent kill, then tether it so you can reel it back in, you could be like "GET OVER HERE" scorpion style. MK for life haha.

maybe you guys watch, maybe you don't, but there's this dude on youtube, FPS Russia.

basically he just shoots a bunch of cool guns, and he's russian so it's funny to listen to him talk about shooting shit.

Anyway, I remember in one of his videos, he was going to make a ballistic knife, but apparently they're illegal :sad:

this vid is tight though. I wouldn't trust that knife in my pocket though to not ballistic itself into my leg or cock or something

"Ballistic knives were originally intended by Soviet military planners to be an improvement on teaching the skill of knife throwing as basic training to new Spetsnaz trainees. The vast numbers of men recruited into the armed forces of the Soviet Union resulted in restrictions on available training time, even for elite forces, and knife throwing required many hours of training and practice. The ballistic knife, which was relatively easy to operate and manufacture, required much less practice than learning to throw a knife by hand. Its primary advantage was the element of surprise. The blade can remain attached to the handle and used as a typical fixed-blade combat knife or launched as a projectile by pulling a pin and pressing a button."

They are highly illegal in almost every country unfortunately, although some can be procured for collection purposes if your involved in the knife community (which is a HUGE one, BTW!)

I've been collecting knives a long time, and these are by far the hardest to come across

Its one of the few knives Illegal to own in pretty much every state.

Most states even allow Automatic and OTF(out the front) knives (improperly called "Switchblades" sometimes :facepalm: ) to be owned for collection purposes

edit: And many guides can be found on the internet how to make them, if your good at making things.

Just remember how dangerous these knives are. Most home made ones DONT HAVE A SAFTEY MECHANISM.

Which means you could accidentally kill yourself pretty easily.

Ballistic knives are no joke if they're build right

Heres another cool knife.

I think its for scuba divers where it shoots out co2 from the blade once it is inside someone(well  a shark for scuba divers). While the air is quickly released it litterally exapands the organs till they pop and freezes them at the same time.

I would not want to get stabbed in the stomach by this thing. Watch it bllow up this watermelon.

I'm not a big knife collector but I did see this and found it intersting.
Legality in the USA

News stories featuring ballistic knives and their owners soon surfaced in major U.S. cities. The most notorious story concerned that of Griffin Patrick O'Neal, the son of actor Ryan O'Neal who had been arrested on May 23, 1986 by police in Rossyln, Virginia for carrying a ballistic knife as a concealed weapon.[10] The story received widespread attention due to O'Neal's involvement in a subsequent boating accident just three days later that killed the son of director Francis Ford Coppola. Calls for a federal ban on ballistic knives ensued throughout 1986 by public interest and lobbying groups. After hearing uncorroborated testimony from a congressional witnesss that ballistic knives could be used to defeat body armor typically worn by police officers, and witnessing a staged demonstration against a wood-backed target,[11] Senator Alphonse D'Amato of New York introduced the Ballistic Knife Prohibition Act, a bill to ban sale or possession of ballistic knives. The bill eventually failed. However, after gaining the support of Senators Strom Thurmond of South Carolina, and Dennis DeConcini of Arizona,[12] congressional support for a ban on import or possession of ballistic knives quickly gained traction. In September 1986 senators supporting the ballistic knife ban attached their bill to popular legislation designed to eradicate drug crops in foreign countries and halt international drug trafficking operations. The bill was subsequently enacted into law. The new federal statute prohibited future importation or possession of such knives in interstate commerce. Some individual states following the example set by the federal law and passed even tighter restrictions, sometimes banning ownership of the knives outright within their state.

Similar to conventional automatic knives, federal law makes ballistic knives with a spring-operated blade[13] illegal to possess, manufacture, sell, or import "in or affecting interstate commerce."[14] This means they are illegal to import from outside the US, as well as buy or sell over state lines, including possessing or making them with intent to sell over state lines. This law does not affect mere possession or manufacture in and of themselves, as that is left to the individual states to regulate. In addition, this law makes it a separate crime to use or possess a ballistic knife during the commission of a federal crime of violence, with a minimum sentence of 5 years in a federal prison.

Like the federal switchblade law, an exception is made for sale to the US Armed Forces within the confines of a contract, as well as possession by duly-authorized members of the Armed Forces in performance of their duty.[15]

A ballistic knife with a blade propelled by an explosive charge is legal to own under federal law, as it is deemed a firearm under the AOW (Any Other Weapons) category of the NFA.

In addition to U.S. federal law, many states have statutes that regulate or prohibit the acquisition and/or possession of ballistic knives, though the level of restriction varies from state to state.

Also I've read in some forum that the knives were sold has "deactivated"....but there was usually a "repair" kit.
