Lemme know when you figure out how to induce a DMT trip without the drugs

I just said how you can do that. Just because you don't think it's possible doesn't mean it isn't.

the whole point, to me of psychedelic drugs is to be taken to the edge of excitement, fear, madness, tranquility and be able to make it through the experience in one piece. I haven't heard of any meditation experience that sounds anything near the psychedelic experience

two very different experiences imo

Stay up for 3 days. You will trip DMT.

or you could just smoke dmt.

ummm. ya but it's not a dmt trip. you can meditate for 24 hours straight but guess what? your not going to be tripping.

Looks like a "trip," feels like a "trip"...

Our brains are chemical factories. Meditation is actively influencing that factory.

I'm telling you man. Learn how to lucid dream, smoke some dream DMT, and tell me what you experience.

I can occasionally reach something like a threshold dose with deep meditation. Same visual & mental signature. It gets to a point where I can see those crazy helixes & snakes twirling around but it doesn't go further. Of course this doesn't necessarily mean DMT is being released but it damn well is a DMT trip. Takes a lot of effort/focus to do get "there" though and I have no idea how it works.

I bet that someone with 20 years of meditative & tripping experience could probably give themselves flashbacks. If there's any way to affect endogenous DMT levels anyway. It feels like you just have to "switch the lights on" somehow.

I think one would have to have smoked DMT first before your brain would know how to replicate the trip during a lucid dream.

2 things.

#1- Is a quote from HST- “What Leary never learned is that you can get a lot higher without drugs than with them…and neither have I for that matter.”

#2-I'd put $1000 on Terence coming out of a 5 day meditation retreat w/Tolle in a better state than Tolle coming out of five days of McKenna level doses of Shrooms/Ayauascha.

It would be an interesting experiment to find a lucid dreamer who has no reference to DMT other than the name, and could then make the request and report the results. I'm afraid the rest of us are tainted by mere association.

I had a dream I did acid before I ever tried it. I just don't remember much of it, other than I tried it and I got very wave-like and shakey type visuals where everything was morphing and breathing, but it wasn't so intense that I couldn't walk or anything.

After I did mushrooms, I ate some mushrooms in a dream and the fabric of reality was fluxxing up.

There's a water tower by my house and a missile hit it, but instead of exploding or something 3-dimensional, that part of my "vision" started pushing inward, the same way seran wrap bends in if you stretch it out and have someone poke a finger slowly into it. It just got tighter and tighter and tighter and I realized I didn't know how to look at it. It was going on in my "3d" world, yet I saw how it was moving inward at a very fast pace. Then I started to lose "it," my mind.

I started warping all over the place (relatively speaking, I was just around my house). I would be in one place then another instantly, with no recognition of going there. THe only thing I was aware of was that I had taken mushrooms, and felt like I was having a PCP trip (never tried it, but heard it was like teleporting at the time I had the dream). AT this point, I realized I lost my mind and I was insane forever now.

Another drug dream experience: I took ecstasy in a dream and ended up on a corner 15 miles from ingestion spot (instantly got there too) and was frigthened so I went into a store and had sex with Mariah Carey, but she turned out to have a gorilla-type hairy back.

So ya, SMOKE YOUR DREAM DMT PPL.

IMO The human brain is born into a psychedelic state its just Karma and ego that builds we need to get back to the core.

Stan Grof's holotropic breathing, kundalini breath of fire and other types of yogic breathing, deep slow breathing in meditation, all can accompany a profound experience psychedelic in nature. It can happen naturally in meditation, you cant force the breathing, it just happens, and breathing guides one's awareness... expands one's consciousness.... and crazy psychedelic shit can accompany. Notice how your breathing changes when you smoke dmt or on psychedelics?

I never quite thought of that, but I ALWAYS noticed a changing in my breathing. It became more rhythmic and oftentimes BECAUSE it was different, I would worry that I was doing it "wrong" cuz it was so different than what I'm used to lol.

last i checked meditation doesnt leave you terrified holding onto your chair asking for mercy while at the same time being absolutely awed and mystified

I don't think meditation and tripping are much alike and wouldn't want to trip without the drugs in the first place... atleast when I take the drug I know what i'm(kinda) getting myself into.

Dude all you people who think mediation can "take you to the same places as meditation" are full of shit.

I love meditation and it does wonders for me. But it's not tripping.

Your never going to have a psychedelic experience without actually ingesting a psychedelic. I don't understand what all the fuss is about. We don't have to try to have a psychedelic experience on our own. just take a fucking psychedelic. they are there for a reason.

You have a point...but at the same time drugs are self-limiting because the effects can be blamed on the drug.

I've stared at fear on a trip and always in the back of my mind is the idea that I took a drug and it will be over in X hours.

I've also stared at fear without the drug...it is much more difficult knowing nothing "caused" it and you don't know when it will end.

Meditate harder. It's all there. That part of you is much nearer to the bottom of the abyss. DMT is like getting stuck in the mineshaft. To get there you have to delve straight into your deepest fear.

The only thing you are getting yourself into is your own self. Of course if you can't swim it's going to be vicious diving into the deep end. You will thrash about. And you can drown (meditation induced psychosis). Just hope you stay alive. It's not for everyone.

Seeking a trippy state =/= seeking enlightenment.

He's asking how to get fat, not how to have a healthy body.

Both of these can be answered with "eat more".

Sometimes you have to get fat to realise what healthy is.

Just as Buddha started off in a palace.

Not really. Buddha was recommending non-attachment....he indicated that 'meditating hard' for a goal of enlightenment would be counter productive.
