Someone wants a refund on Ebay

I sold a motorcycle jacket on ebay and now the person I sold it to wants a refund. They say there is a stain, even though I don't remember there being a stain and there is no stain in the photo that I used to sell the item.

They also say it should be mint- even though I listed it as used in ebay's drop down menu, but in the item description i wrote it was mint. I only said that because i wanted it sold.

They want a refund and I don't want to give them one. What should I do? Has anyone else on here been in the same state, any actions I should take? I really want to keep this $80.

as long as they send the jacket back... but if you said it was mint that's kinda deceptive if it has a stain. any honest lister would have mentioned a stain... but if you say there wasn't one there :shrug:

Whenever I sell on ebay I always mention even the slightest defects and always state the exact condition of the item. Basically I treat others the way I want to be treated (honest dealing) which is how I got my top ratings.

Yeah, a 90% wont get you too far on Ebay...

Gotta be honest, I wouldve probably returned it too.

If you refund properly, they shouldnt give you bad feedback though

Give the refund and try again. 


Saying something is "mint" means it's next to brand-new, without any use.

Lol.  On ebay you don't have a choice.  Try and remain nice and get the jacket back then refund else you will end up losing both anyway...

Paypal / ebay will just refund the guy anyway if he complains and then you might still have more hassle getting him to send you it back.

The ethics are completely customer tilted.  I've had loads of rip offs from the customers saying the goods didnt arrive.  I even went to paypal with proof of posting and they still refund the customer based on their word alone and ignoring my proof of posting reciept.  :facepalm:

I avoid ebay and paypal after an issue with selling something. If someone is going to rob me I might as well be able to shoot them. I use craigslist to sell anything. Never had a problem.

See thats the fundamental flaw in ebay.

How can anyone prove the box I sent you had the goods in it?  maybe it just had a rock in it.

Then theres 3 potentially guilty parties, the sender, the receiver and the courier.  Any of whom could be the real thief.

Leaving it as a "whodunnit" situation to which ebay and paypal simply says "the seller" even if the seller has all their paper work, its still proof of nothing other than something was sent.

I got some bromodragonfly the other day and since I'm not a fan I decided to get rid of it. I only said its 2C-E because I wanted it sold :facepalm:

That kind of attitude is something I will not tolerate. You need to pull your shit together, keep your jizz in your underpants and not on your merchandise.
