One of the founding ideals of America is the belief in self-reliance.

Americans have to ask themselves: do they really believe in self-reliance?

There is debate in America about tax-payer funded healthcare, but most of them believe that doctors should be in charge of healthcare. Would a self reliant person rely on doctors to take care of their healthcare?

A person who believes in self-reliance would learn how to do their own healthcare instead of asking the government or hospitals to do it for them. A self-reliant person would learn how to take care of their own health and take care of their own health. Or they might work to form some sort of community based volunteer group that pledges to heal eachother with health related things.

If a person really believed in self-reliance would they trust doctors to be the stewards of their health? Wouldn't they learn healthcare on their own?
