you can use laptop/software for producing AND mixing these days! :awesome:


the qualities i look for in a dj stem from their selections, their ability to fit it together and how well they work a crowd, not what equipment they use. i don't really care how someone dj's. for me, and i learned how to dj with vinyl, i like that i can write music, play it live, and dj all with one software package.

How much is that?


$700-$800 brand new.  Not so cheap but DJ equipment is expensive and it's one of the best quality controllers on the market.

just got back from guitar center and looks like the APC40 is really whats up right now... all I know is that im not dropping 6 stacks on some huge pioneer thing like the guy tried to get me to do. LOL. Audio equipment is soooo much fuckin money, but the APC40 is cheap as fuck so i'll be able to get speakers and laptop for all under 2,000..

also, i think im going to pay for Ableton live 8. i'll want the free updates
