Haha I know what you mean. I did this not too long ago with some video game music. Not sure if it was midi though. I think what I did is played the file on my computer, then had a sound recorder record it as a wave, which I converted to mp3.

yeah, you have to record it to a wav file. MIDI is a computer language, it isnt a format. It has no actual musical content, only instructions as to how to play the music.

This is why MIDI files, if transfered from one computer to another, will sound different if there are different sound cards. Where one sound card would interpret some certain byte of midi data to be a saxophone, another might interpret it to be a flute.

MIDI needs a voice that it can control. Otherwise it's just data (like said above) that tells said voice when to start, stop, what pitch, and with what velocity.

Don't be afraid of asking around MAL in the future... :wink:
