I've been to a couple of Rogan's shows, he's funny as hell. I also love Bourdain's show even though I don't eat meat. Some people think that's weird.

I don't eat meat and I love Bordain.  He did do a few shows in India where he ate a bunch of vegetarian stuff.  He said he usually things of vegetarian food as a travesty, but he didn't miss the meat in India for a second.  He should let me cook for him. :tongue2:

hell yeah, I have a lot of respect for bourdain cause he's one of the only "celebrity chef" food show hosts that seems genuine and doesn't mince words. he can be kind of arrogant but then again so can I, plus he's got a great taste in music to boot. I can actually see myself having a personality similar to his when I'm his age, my only grievance with him is his rabid hatred of vegans, I'm not sure what we ever did to him. his fierce defense of things like foie gras and his characterization of the movement to ban its cruel method of production as "the forces of evil" I find off-putting though. but I think veg*ns turning the other cheek and not fucking with him in return is the best way to get someone who thinks that way about vegans to change their mind. we need to show the world that although we're passionate about our views and lifestyles we're not all sanctimonious assholes about it as is the public perception.

even as an ethical vegan I quickly outgrew the desire to preach to people unless they wish to debate me or want to know why I've made such a decision. calling someone a murderer for eating a burger only hurts the cause and makes you seem like a dick, just lead by example and express your views to people in a tactful manner that doesn't totally alienate anybody that doesn't already think like you. at least that's what I try to do.

and to steer this thread back in the direction of bourdain, anyone who gives shout outs to the stooges and the new york dolls on their show is alright in my book.

I love when he does the "fear and loathing" esque segments on no reservations. Anybody ever see that?

Yup, that was pretty funny. I was just watching a Q&A he did at Google and he said at the age of 12 I think it was HST inspired him and was a big influence on his writing.
