First time myco experiment... seeking experienced advice

As stated in the title of this thread, this is my first time attemting to cultivate fungus. I recently received my spore syringe and am waiting til the weekend to sterilize and innoculate the cakes (I am following the Mushroom Cultivator guide found on this site and erowid.org). I am sure I can get through the innoculation no questions asked, but was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with the Poor Man's terrarium (made from 2 liter bottles). I have VERY little money left to put in this project and was wondering if the Poor Man's terrarium will yeild the same as the other terrariums (taking into consideration the extra effort involved). Also are there any additional contamination issues when using the Poor Man's Terrarium. I guess the real question is is the Poor Man's terrarium worth the effort to save a little money or will my harvest be affected by using this method.

just spend the $6 on a rubbermaid tub. Buy some thick clear plastic sheeting to put over top(cheap as fuck).

Just go to walkmart...bigger tupperware containers are on sale now i believe(4-6 bucks for 20gal+-). Get one of those and anything else you can scroung up and do something similar to this setup--(fanning+misting all the time gave 85%rh and around 75f temp...)(check out the grow and stuff here---. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Growlog&Number=1414128&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1)

you can buy a rubbermade container thang and some perlite and you're set. you're going to need a dessicator too, and that's gonna cost some money to put together. i don't think anyone actually uses the poor mans terrarium. i think it's a bad tek.

Here is a tip about a pit fall many new growers fall into.

When inoculating make sure to sterilize the needle in between jars. Oh and also don't forget to cool down the needle after with h202 or isopropyl or what have you.
