the honey idea might have been hippies or whoevers but the liquid culture has been around for a long time. Honey isnt the only thing you can use for this. Malted barely works, potato broth, dogg food broth will work. Any substrate that can germinate spores will work. Any agar recipes with out the agar will work. Honey and malt are just the easiest to obtain. I have doen the same thing by using dextrose and water. Im not a big fan of these teks because the high rate of contams though. Plain old petris with a syringe to suck up the myceliumk seem to be nbest for me. Hell, why not, i think i will give it a try again. Mycelium

It's not a matter of who invented it, that was a long long time ago. As usual, it's a matter of who popularized it with the pop mycology underground. Well for the most part, that was hippie. He did claim that he got the idea from someone else, but he spread the idea like wildfire to anyone that would listen. But the idea of liquid culture has been around for a very long time indeed, and just about every source of nutrition imaginable has been tried before.------------------ -From a registered Mad Scientist "From a certain point of view" -Jedi Master Obiwan Kenobi (also a Mad Scientist tm)

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

cluB99 stumbled upon using honey 'cause he's in europe and had difficulty getting dextrose. i read his post, thought the idea had merit, tested it, it worked so i began proclaiming the good news. and wrote up the tek.------------------ Visit http://www.drooldonkey.org Global Psychedelic Community, Forums & Chat, Teks & Tips.

well liquid mycelium solution can be done with lot of carbon sources... glucose, fructose, honey etc... honey and glucose are the most avalaible all are easy to use and mycelium grows well in all... but remember that if you do atea of birdseed of rye or wathever is gonna be your final fruiting substrate...will improve the formation of enzimes in by the mycelium allowing faster colonization when you transfer the liquid to the grain...
