I have been growing using pf cakes and occassionaly casing them for a few months now. I want to know what is the most easiest bulk growing tek for the begginner. I thought about using straw, but I want opinions on how easy it is.

quart jars and grain based substrates are good because you can use grain to grain transfer to keep innoculating for substrate. do not attempt a physically large casing because its like putting all your eggs in one basket. use maybe a quart or 2 of grain spawn per casing and you will get amazing amounts out of each casing while keeping them isolated enough so that one getting contaminated won't further contaminate other casings.

Thanks, and one more question, will brown rice work as a substrate in quart jars?
