Bulk Tek Beginner, Help!

I have used the basic pf tek many times to grow my mushrooms and have had excellent results, but I would like to make more at one time so I have been looking into trying a bulk tek. Could someone help to point me in the direction of a bulk tek that would be good for beginners?

Take some of those cakes that are done, and spawn into a huge tub o' poo. You will be amazed. (Bows in the presence of poo)

Here ya go!Recipe: 1.("black gold" Worm casings) 2.Wheat straw( You chop the wheat straw up and put in a ziplock freezer back and fill with water distilled water and let it sit for an hour or two) 3.peatmoss 4.vermiculite 5.Alder shavings You mix em all together in a large bowl And bake em in a aliminium turkey roaster pan you buy at the store the larger the better. Bake for 1hour at 250-275F then after an hour stir it up and bake for an additional 30minutes. No youv've sterilized your compost. As for the exact ingrediant ratio its up to you. Use about50-60% worm casings as much or little straw as you like use about half a bag per pan more or less use about a cup or two of vermiculite, Use a decent amount of peat moss two to three times as much verm. Maybe less And use a good amount of alder shavings I believe they contribute alot to mush size. Dont us to much though you add the alder chips dry. Add water to your mixture distilled water till damp or moist not soaking. You'll have to add more water to your compost after you sterilize distilled of coarse. Don't get your compost too wet or it may not work appropiatly. I thinks thats about it.

I would recommend sticking with the pf-tek style jars that you already know how to do and learn how to case them. Read up on casing, there are several teks out there. Once you have a few casings under your belt, you can switch from the pf-tek style jars to something else, such as whole grains in larger jars/bags.

Grow your cakes(grain is better for bulk IMHO ) , instead of birthing them as cakes . When they "fully" colonize break them up and mix them into a 50/50 case , add another layer of case on top , keep moist , warm, the norms for running of myc .... Then whem myc begins to take over surface , initiate pinning . Cousin "IT" did this and was happy ! Used those little 5x5x4 inch zip loc bowls as a tray .
Read though , there is way more to explain about the whole concept of bulk techniques than most are willing . FAQS , The Mushroom Cultivator , read , read ! ps , ignore all the crap that grain , bulk substrates , etc... is harder , B.S. is where Cousin "IT" began and will stay . There are a lot more variables ... yes but that is what makes it a challenge . Growing mushies in as close to the natural element as possible is funner , and makes Mushroom Goddess happier ! IMHO ! Are you a baker ?.......................... Than give up making cakes !
"May the Mushroom Goddess bless all your endeavors "
-------------------- Any information I give is not intended to aide you in the production of potentialy illegal substances !None of my exp comes from growing illegal varities , so take it as you will .
So with that said here is our mission statement .

I suggest following the procedures used by most commercial mushroom farms for decades. Colonize quart jars of rye grain and use to innoculate horse manure compost.
You can get genuine horse manure compost here.

Yes, I suggest a grain before trying bulk, or use grain and just use that to spawn some poo and straw or just straight poo. Personally, I tried PF style jars, and couldn't get 'em. After three sets of PF jars, I then switched to birdseed with liquid mycelium inoculation. They look very promising, are already better than my PF jars. Don't believe it when they say that grain is harder, its just as easy, if not, then easier.
