I've found astrology to be spot on. Basically it is a measure of the energy at the moment of your birth. This is a good book on the subject.

People spend their entire lives studying astrology. The easiest way would be to visit a professional astrologer. There is even astrology software out there to help make and read charts. If your really interested in the subject and want a good introduction, check out The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need By Woolfolk. It's too large to post here, but PM your email if you want a PDF of it. This book goes over all the basics in a comprehensive manner.

Well supposedly I'm an Ophiuchus. I looked up the traits for it and they are SPOT ON. My girlfriend is a taurus and that is SPOT ON.

So the question is... how many other people who are not Ophiuchus have Ophichus traits spot on like that? Are we really different or are we all just the same?

dude this website is cool but it's only your sun sign, you could do much better.

dude take all the names and stuff with a grain of salt...

what you have to remember is that before you found out there was even an 'ophiucus', you were still the person you are today...you didn't change, just the name of the sign changed, so that the name of the sign doesn't necessarily describe you, it is your exact time, day of birth and location that determines yoru personality.

some forms of astrology have 12 signs, some have 13...it's all up to the astrologers interpretation.

for instance, if you look at the celtic zodiac ( http://www.whats-your-sign.com/celtic-tree-astrology.html ), which has 13 signs, as compared to western astrology which has 12 discluding ophiucus. 

so while i am a scorpio in western astrology, i am the reed in celtic astrology.  i think this way of looking at astrology is very important because it reminds you that it isn't the name of the sign that makes you YOU, it's YOU that makes you YOU.

and as cosmonaut said, your sun sign is merely how the world sees you, and your moon sign would be more of the way you see yourself, mercury sign would be how you think...etc

honestly this just sounds like some guys opinion of scorpio sun sign.

i'd much rather prefer a website with actual astrologers interpretations.

things like degrees, houses, etc...

it's just not in depth enough bro.

The energy? What is it?

I've found that numerology and astrology both deal with rather vague descriptions. The best way, I think, to live your life is just to not give a damn about such things, even if you think they are true -- because that way you won't be caught up inside boundaries. Be free. If things happen, they happen.

actually i find that it rather reinforces that there are no two similar people, and not one person has the same personality of another.

astrology isn't conjecture and you don't bend truths, it is what it is.

everyone has countless aspects that are unique to everyone else, bar none.

in this way i find astrology to be point on, in that it shows that NOONE is alike...

people who generally have a lack of understanding when it comes to the intricacies and depth of astrology.

I heard it called that Astrology is the Only Real Science where Humans can interpret their symbolic Life. hmm..not verbatim, but along those lines..

It's really not hard to make a simple birth chart. There are a lot of great books out there, and even websites that can give you the low-down.

For more detail, ya, as c0sm0nautt said, the best place to go would be a professional..

It can go so indepth it's flabbergasting.. Every little moving upject out there can have an effect, and can be reflectively examined to have influence on our Lives..

And now the 13th sign is back..
