Did you go to college after high school??

I did. Community college, but :shrug:

I went for like 3 quarters, but I didn't really know what I was doing...I had no direction, I was just spacing out all day and decided to say fuck it I'm not gonna waste any more of my dads $$$
my parents had gotten divorced and my sister is a straight A student (I graduated with a 2.1gpa) so i was like fuck I'm not gonna waste cash that could be put towards a REAL education.

Anyway I've been working since and I'm really glad I didn't stay in school. I feel like a lot of college kids get BS degrees that aren't going to land them real jobs and they just waste a ton of cash. Now I have a decent resume and I can always go back to college if I ever find something I really want to do :shrug:

Did you guys go to school? Are you in school? What are you studying?

I took a good 6 months off after HS but I am now finishing my first semester at college; Environmental Ethics, Religions-eastern traditions, and Algebra. Im going to take online school from now on.  I am working towards a masters degree in Transformational Psychology at the University of Philosophical Research.

I dont care about getting a fancy degree to get a 'good' job. Im in it for myself. I love learning about philosophy, religion, and science.

I'm pretty much in the same situation you were in, but I dropped out of my first year in my community college and I'm planning to go back again this fall. I'm definitely one of the bottom-listed students but if I really do try my best, I believe I can make it somewhere decent.

Decent as it may be, youre still working a common mans job. Im not saying thats bad or good. Good for happiness, bad for...well, your odds of retiring happy  and comfortably are pretty slim. Went straight to college after HS, thought I wanted to be an attorney.  One semester I signed up for strength and conditioning and found out that my professor was making 60k to lift weights and run with college kids, play tennis, and swim.  I left there and switched majors to some fitness field, now I'm planning on joining the Marines then get my masters degree, eventually getting my ACSM Health Fitness certification and trying to get a professor position myself playing games for a ridiculous amount of $.  Livin the dream so far.

I dropped out of high school... Have been working and doing thangs :feelsgoodman:in the meanwhile. I can start an education (college degree) here next week. Chemistry :grin: I already have some knowledge in the subject so I think i'll go for it in september

I say do what you like...

unfortunately money sometimes gets in the way :mad2:

dropped out as well, i was injured my senior year and missed a shit ton of school and didn't feel like making it up another year. but i was young and stupid, so it goes. it's been 6 years now, and i was just lucky to get a decent managerial job for a few years while i figured my shit out. now i'm clean and ready to get in to some classes again, and am looking forward to it. probably nursing, as i've spent a lot of time in hospitals and grew to enjoy it there. if not i just look forward to learning and socializing a bit.

there are some colleges that just give you a diploma, but they do not actually give you an education. the difference is, you experience a lot more at a UNI, which will help you get a job. a community college is really nothing more than a continuation of highschool. sure a diploma will get you a job, but it will be dead end. the way the world works is you gotta have a little bit of ingenuity in order to make any real $$$
