Hops grafted to cannabis rootstock

Ok before you start telling me its no use hear me out. I am in the tropics, hops I dont believe its acclimatized to the tropics, I ordered a bunch of seeds and out of like 50, 4 have sprouted so far, although they sporadically sprout every once in a while. From what Ive read they require some stratification, I didnt do this. I theorize that the seeds that have sprouted are either early germinating mutants or a few random seeds that the plant throws that germinate without stratification (hopefully).

Ive got to say that they are weird, one started to grow, slowly, but passed the cotyledons and formed some 3 or 4 nodes, with very small leaves. I had it in full sun as I had read they like full sun, and considering they are cannabis's cousins and cannabis just gorges up pure sun all day... Then a few days ago the plant got some heat damage, I moved it next to sally d, today a friend had a male cannabis that the was going to kill to I decided to graft it. When I pulled it I realized that the damage had been to the roots or down the stem because it pulled right out.

I think with a cannabis rootstock perhaps hops could be better cultivated or adapted to my climate.... 

I did the graft and it seems to be alive and breathing!

The other 3 seedlings..  One died, another has been for like 2 weeks at the cotyledon stage, but it just receives sun brightness, last one is at the cotyledon as well but this one developed a nice root so  transplanted, and its been taking some sunshine for a few days now, strangely the stem is vaguely greenish but the cotyledons are white white white,  is it an albino hop???

Cool that you're trying anyway.  Be aware that hops, like cannabis, is a dioecious plant - male and female on separate plants.  This is why the most common way to propagate hops isn't from seed but from cuttings.

Unfortunately, the cannabinoids won't pass through the graft, won't be incorporated into the hops :frown:

Well brothers, heres the best i can do ( I have to hold the laptop close to things to photograph them.

I was not pleased with the first attempt, so I cut lower in the rootstock and higher in the scion.  I tried to leave just the growing tip to prevent necrotic tissue. its 1 day old. Next week if its still alive I will take more pics.

Sadly no tripping beer...  But I believe some experimenting can be done in the sense of using different male/female rootstock/scions combinations of both and observing them. I leave that to someone else, I just wana brew some beer with my own stuff. 

Im sure hops could be replaced by sticky icky anyways

Usually you can get rhizomes to grow hop plants from.  This will give you a pretty quick head start and you won't have to weed out any males.

Well i did not order any rhizomes, instead I got a seedpack for 99c. and thats where i got them from.  I suppose im just seeing what happens.

I wanted to know, since hops takes such a long time to flower, what is the light requirements for flowering? Is it a long day plant? Long night plant?    Is the flowering controlled by photoperiod or by the age of the plant??

Does anyone knows how grafting to cannabis rootstock can alter the normal flowering cycle?

Just out of curiosity.

Cannabis would be a long night flowering plant if im not mistaken (I would not know for sure, since I have never ever grown it, I only know from friends).
