Grafting non cacti to cacti
    #5606215 - 05/08/06 07:13 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

Is it possible to graft a small seedling of whatever plant onto a overgrown random WalMart cacti?

I'm not thinking doing it to increase growth speed, just as a neat conversation piece, and a fun project.

Would it work about the same as a cacti to cacti graft?

It helps if the plants are in the same family. Like how Hops and Cannabis are both in the Cannabinaceae family. So they can be grafted.

Even when plants are in the same family it is still tough to get many of them to graft.

Why not just graft a cacti to the stock.?? Still a nice conversation piece..

I have had MANY plant "experts" see my Perkopsikisis/lopho grafts and have no idea what kind of plant it is letalong what family it belonged to.

No cacti to graft just yet, I was in the mood to do something besides the routine.

I would like a poppy grafted to herb grafted onto peyote. Now, it may last about 60 days, but THAT would be a conversation piece.
