perlite and Co2 question...

Butthead is haveing a little bit of trouble keeping the humidity down when the cakes start to pin and grow.... He's using perlite and the next time he wants to grow he wants to know if he should just do away with the perlite and just use a bubbler?

Butthead says he's also looking for a Co2 meter with an outlet on it. What the meter should do is when the meter measures a high Co2 level turn on a small cpu fan(mounted tords the bottom of the terrarium) that is connected to the outlet on the meter then turn off when the c02 level is lower.. This may be overkill but butthead is not always home all the time.... Fresh air will be drawn in with the bubbler.

If you are doing cakes, you can keep the humidity at around 95% RH throughout the cycle.

CO2 probe is an overkill, you are right.

High humidity for cakes is fine, if you are casing on the other hand I believe you would want to keep your humidity at roughly 90%. :grin:
