perlite humidification question
    #651898 - 05/29/02 05:15 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

What seems to work better, to put the perlite in a strainer, wet it, and let the excess water drain out, using it then. Or putting it into the fruiting chamber and then adding water to it then?

doesn't matter.. just make sure it's moist.. throw in water and mix around the perlite with your hand until it's all wet, but there isn't a large collection of water on the bottom.

I usually soak perlite for 5 min to make sure it sucks up as much water as it can..drain...put in chamber..spray hard with water and spray walls with sprayer..and then give it some H202 and all is good

As long as the water level is BELOW the perlite layer, (so it can evaporate) you are good.
you can always add more water later
