Perlite Humidification Question

I have 2 Questions.
1.Can I mist water directly onto my casings even when pins are there?

2.If I were to use perlite for humidification, would I just be spraying the perlite?

1) avoid spraying any pins, and only spray when the casing is drying out after its pinning
2)if you're doing a perlite/casing setup, the perlite should keep the casing layer moist. If condensation stops forming on the sides of the terrarium, you need to rewet the perlite. You can spray it down or dump some water and h202 in there and mix it up so its wet all over.
