I donno for sure man but wiki just taught me something very very interesting...

"Lettuce is a low calorie food and is a source of vitamin A and folic acid. Lactucarium (or “Lettuce Opium”) is a mild opiate-like substance that is contained in all types of lettuce. Both the Romans and Egyptians took advantage of this property by eating lettuce at the end of a meal to induce sleep."

Edit: Before you guys get any ideas... or to help you with those ideas :tongue:

"Lactuca virosa is poisonous[1], and at least one fatality has occurred during an attempt to use it for intoxication.[2][3] Because it is a latex, Lactucarium physically resembles opium, in that it is excreted as a white fluid and can be reduced to a thick smokable solid."

Its mostly healthy b/c it has nearly no calories, so you can eat and eat until your satisfied and it actually burns calories b/c its so hard to break down

Calories are a good thing though.  I'm not sure if your body alone would react well if you attempted to solely live off lettuce.

Yup, pretty much. I fucking hate iceberg, partially cause people think its healthy when in reality its just nothing. Your dark leaves are where all the good shit is at, lots of vitamins and minerals with still very few calories.

Bullshit.

Calories =\= nutrition.

Salad is healthy because of vitamins, phytonutrients, fiber, etcetera. Depending on what you put in it, you can get an enormous amount of antioxidants, omega-fatty acids, probiotics, immune-system boosters -- you name it, some plant has it. THAT is why salad is healthy.

I fucking hate salads. I never understood the craving to mix vegetables and gunk together.

Personally, I eat each of my vegetables raw and alone. Sometimes I'll even include a dipping sauce to ease the taste of each. But for the most part, savoring the feeling and sensation of the organism you just ate is so much more succulent.
