PF Tek Jars - Covering Holes During Incubation?
    #1349703 -

Now if someone was following the PF Tek, once the incubation process was started, should the lid holes be kept covered, or should the tape on the holes be removed?

You'll want some air exchange... thats what the verm seal is for.
No, you want to keep the holes open, else the jars will stall.

thanks for the info....

now if the grower was a cigarette smoker, would the verm seal be enough to keep smoke contaminants out, or should the grower refrain from smoking in the incubation room?

also...

if there is white "globs" on the side of the PF Tek Jars (Verm and Rice Flour), should the grower be concerned?

it most closely looks like little bits of rice pudding... doesn't appear to be mold, but it most definately isn't mycelium... at least that's what the grower tells me....
