You're gonna have to wait a few more days, before they germinate.

werd thanks. would exposing them to light at this stage help? or should i jus continue to leave them in the darm in warmth? and if the light would help, how much light? and when they say "keep in indirect sunlight", does that jus mean, i can keep it in a room that is lit up by sunlight, ANYWHERE in the room?

It's possible you introduced a contaminant, but I doubt it. Expect to wait about 5 or 6 days to see germination. It normally occurs sooner, but that's generally the latest that I see it.

No need for light at the mycelium stage, leave them in the dark until they're 100% colonized. The exposure to light, along with the drop in temperature and increased 02 levels should initiate pinning. You don't need to keep your mushrooms in direct sunlight durring any growth stage. The only reason they use light is to tell which way to grow. Alot of people say you should give a 12hr on, 12hr off schedule because it loosely mimics the natural light cycle. I just leave the aquarium light on durring the day and turn it off when I go to bed, I dont think it really matters how much light you give them.

thanks cub. wait you said that i don't need light right now..but you said the exposure to light, and drop in temp, and increase in CO2, would help initiate pinning...is that after i take the cake out of the jar? and if it is, how would the temp drop and CO2 increase? and thanks for tellin me that the light simply tells it which way it grows. but even after i take the cake out, is indirect light for 3-5 hours everyday enough?
peace,
r.j.
