Hearing voices
    #13439735 -

Last night I tripped on AMT, San Pedro, Ketamine and Pot.

Near the end, at around 3AM, I took a huge line of K.

My imagination came to life, geometrical patterns were forming like I've never seen them before, and it was as though whatever I thought formed in my imagination.  But the imaginings were very colorful, extremely vivid closed eye visuals.

On the come down, it was as though I could hear the conversations from 3 different people.  I've heard voices before, but it was more like listening to a TV from another room, more scattered.  This time, the voices were having conversations between themselves and I was wondering... "what is this, how is this in my head?  only I'm supposed to be in my head!?"  The voices were clear as day, there was a clear sound, just as if someone were talking to me in real life.

Then my thoughts started changing without my will.  It was as though there were other thinking minds in my mind, but I thought them as well.  I thought to myself "why am I thinking this, and why do I have no control over these thoughts?"

Now that the trip is over the voices have ceased.

But I'm wondering.  Is this schizophrenia?  Or schizo-effective?  I'm diagnosed effective but curious if one day these voices could show themselves in my day to day life if I don't keep good care of my body and mind.

How do you think you would handle that, if that happened?
I've always thought that if I'd start hearing voices it'd be nice if could continue my life without letting those thoughts negatively affect who I wanted to be.

Probably do a lot more ayahuasca in large doses more frequently.  it could give me more personal power which could rid of those thoughts or help me to deal with them more positively, or...

it was pretty hefty though.  the voices were very loud.  i work customer service and couldn't see myself dealing with customers with voices that loud interrupting.

When Chuck Norris starts hearing voices, he tells them to shut the fuck up.  They run away and never come back.

Chuck Norris would not be afraid to express his feminine side - if he had one.

True Chuck non-story from a bartender friend. Chuck was at a small, local bar here in Vegas like 18 years ago having a beer. Some biker bad-ass goes over to him and says "Hey, MF, that is my seat!" So Chuck moves to the end of the bar. The dude continues to provoke so Chuck moves to a booth.

A friend of the bad-ass notifies him that he is fucking with Chuck Norris. The bad-ass apologizes and buys Chuck a pitcher of beer.

My bartender friend said Chuck did not look fearful or even annoyed. Just wanted to be left alone. He had no need to prove himself.

I am curious to know, how you ascertained that the voices were inside your head and not external?

Did you check for a source of the sound, or did you "just know?"

If the voices ceased when the trip ended, there is a good chance that you have nothing to worry about. Auditory hallucinations are just another sense hallucination, like visuals. There is no reason I can think of why it is overtly unusual to experience them on drugs.

If you take any drug that has psychoactive ability, you run the risk of drug induced psychosis. It is said that the severity of the psychosis depends not only on how much of the drug you take, but how long you allow the psychosis to develop for.

Schizophrenia has been known to be induced by certain drugs...Or I should say, those already susceptible to Schizophrenia may be triggered by certain drugs. It may be hard to tell the difference...

I have experience with this myself, but in my case, the hallucinations continued  for some months after...

yes, though im not really worrying... apologies, should have made myself more clear.  at the time when the voices were occurring, there was a bit of worry.  but fascinating at the same time.

i have had many auditory hallucinations but none compare to what happened last night.  it was as if i was sharing my mind with other thinking minds.  like there were 3 other people inside of me.  what to make of that i have no idea.  just taking it as it was

a cousin of my mother is schizophrenic.  though i have experienced drug induced psychosis for prolonged periods of time, so maybe i am still mildly psychotic and that is what caused the experience.  or maybe a bit of both?

That's quite interesting. Ever wonder how you can hold conversations with others in dreams?  The mind/brain is vast beyond imaginings and when you start messing with the chemical messengers anything may happen.  You're quite the psychonaut. Good on ya,

As to if you could blow yer mind I'm sure that's happened to plenty.  If you're lucky when it happens there will be a culture that supports your experience. Most likely not however and that could be pretty hellish.

I'm surprised you wouldn't expect such phenomena with that combination. I wouldn't say schizophrenic... I experience similar conversations as I am falling asleep and waking up, especially when slipping into the altered states which lead to out-of-body experiences. I see it as the veil between the unconscious and conscious thinning. If it starts to become prevalent when sober you may want to check out Jung's work on "confrontation with the unconscious."

i have been in that state which you speak of and have heard those voices, but the similarities are very very slim.  they are very different in intensity, duration and complexity.

can you converse with them?

maybe they wouldn't mind moving if they could hear you when if you ask them.

yes!  i totally forgot about that, thanks for the reminder.  i actually asked who they were.  one gave me a name and said a few words to me.  i felt something move through me and take control of my visuals and the "voice" started creating all these complex hallucinations.  one of the "voices" was very nasty, scary hallucinations and all that.  one of them gave me heaven like visuals.  the other.. more complex and geometrical.  there's so much i can't remember but you helped so thanks again

I would try and find some kind of a healer, who works with energies, if you can't make them go away on your own. even if that sounds silly, it may work.

WTF are 'energies' and how would you verify that such a healer was not a fraud?
