I don't think orbiting debris is a big problem for those of us on the ground, as was said before most of if not all man made debris will burn up or detonate in the atmosphere.

The main problem with all the debris is the effect it has on people and things in space.  As far as I know there aren't any other methods of preventing collisions short of just avoiding them.

So, if a discarded wrench flies through a maned flight we're down several million (if not billion) dollars, not to mention the possibility of loosing multiple highly skilled individuals that would take 10's of years to replace, thus setting back the space age a little longer.

I know its happened to a couple satellites already, shit flies fast man

Most of the larger objects atleast are constantly tracked and the probability of even that many objects hitting something is still pretty low. As long as we don't start blowing shit up in space (fuck you USA and china) then there shouldn't be too much unaccounted for debris.

You assume too much.

I can read you know and what was said about the photos was indeed that the objects
were not of the normal scale of the earth.

Anyways yeah you are irrelevant to this thread. Please try again later.
