Back on topic(sorta).

I got trich on my vietnam msg yesterday. I tossed it out side under the trees. I dont think that the Brazil is going to put out anymore either. They lasted a looooong time though so its all good.

Total weight 14.5 ounces. Not bad for 5 liters of spawn is it?

Was it 2 or 3 flushes? I looked at the thread a couple days ago but don't remember.

You should start an outdoor bed and see if they survive the chilly weather.

Two main flushes. then a few shitty ones. Its going to be frost soon. Dont thing they'll have a chance. Going to start a cyan in the spring though so that should be fun.

I just picked up a sterilite 1896 (the "show-off" that doc_t has been using) at a local store, but it was nine dollars. I'm having trouble finding good-looking containers anywhere locally. I need to try dollar stores next. And drilling all those holes is a pain in the ass!

I'm thinking about ordering these: http://www.amazon.com/Sterilite-19858006-30-Quart-See-Through-Titanium/dp/B002BA5F5C/ref=pd_bxgy_k_text_b since i have Prime and get free shipping. The height looks good to me if I'm planning on 4-5 inches of bulk sub, and no 'wasted' space.

Since this is will be my first mini MSG hybrid, can I get some professional opinions on that container?

Got three 1896's for four bucks a piece at walmart. I sanded and painted the bottom 4.5"s with black automotive paint w/ added flex additive so it wouldn't flake. Waiting to get new strains in the mail, cant wait to try my luck and post pics.

I also had a 20something quart mono, but it got a gnarly contam last time I used it so I had to throw it out. Worked well though:

i just harvested 816.8 g (wet) of PE mutant blobs from my two 27 qt MSG's

made some tea on sat night with 20g(wet)...shit did it kick my ass. i usually dose about 5g dry of the shit i get off the street and do fine but i was not expecting the experience i had sat night. was nearly a bad trip but i was able to calm myself down and enjoy the duration of the night. :mushroom2:

I had 2 of these sterilite 5.5 qt "snap" lid tubs around. I had already drilled one to use as a mini 1 cake shotgun. So the only thing that made sense was for me to spraypaint the bottom of the other one and use them.






Here's what's inside. Hillbilly MS on coir/verm/coffee/lime/gypsum:

the substrate really shrunk together. did you ever try to fill the gaps with verm or so ? maybe it helps preventing the side pinning.

this is actually my first grow so i am just happy to have something besides contams.

i thought about building a shotgun and fruiting it like a big cake.

of course the verm has to be sterilized (just saying).

or that. but you have to be careful. handling such a big cake without breaking it is problematic.
and the more you handle it, the more contams may occur.

negative, don't do it. It'll turn your poop shiny!

After the first flush and you've gotten some shrinkage, you can get some nice side pinnage, which is no longer a problem after the substrate has shrunk. If you fill that gap with verm you'll still get some side pinning, but it'll be all full of verm.
