LARGEST STIPE AND CAP COMP 2010

Just thought I'd start another fun thread where everyone can get involved. Simple rules.... Just post your biggest finds.... No trophy or prize - just for fun :mushroom2:

Ill start it off with my biggest find this season with what I think is an Macrolepiota Procera (Parasol Mushroom)

Cap: 8"
Stipe: 10"

Here is the largest Amanita Amerimuscaria I have found so far, 2 seasons ago, i diddnt measure it, though I should have..

WOW... THATS ENORMOUS.... The stipe is mad thick as well! Love that smaller one too. looks like a perfect specimen.

This is the only one I can find. This was last year and I didn't measure it. The knife in front of it is about 25 cm (10 inches long).

Enter the giant Parasols (Macrolepiota procera).

First 2 were about 10 inches diamater but the third was the biggest mushroom I've seen, about 12 inches or so. Didn't take exact measurements though but they're huge.





Also the top Amanita muscaria in this photo was big, not far from 10 inches I estimate.

I did also find a Boletus edilus that was even bigger but it was rotten and infested and didn't take a picture. Over 12 inches that must have been.

Sound like an old fishermen rambling about the 'one that got away' dont I.
