Could that even remotely work with a question that only has two answers?
Wouldn't the torturer basically end up deciding what his motives were?

I think it would be better to have someone who knows him well say something like "so man that is so amazing how you were able to get so famous. I wish I had that opportunity!" and then you could gauge his reaction.

this is just in general,

does it really matter what his true motives are tho?  I think the real question is are his actions helping at all?

As long as his story and explanations are true, then it really doesn't matter why he's doing it. 

And honestly all i can remember about this topic is the movie, im not really up to date on this guy and what he's saying other that what pris has mentioned on the last page or 2.

But if this guy writting the books is against the war, even if everything he says is a lie, more power to him for using the system against our corrupt government :shrug:  its extremely hard to fight the "machine"  even if this is just a tiny little chip, if it helps inch the war to a close, we should all be for it

I agree 100%, but I also feel like it's important to defend his motives to some extent and not call him out as an attention seeker when we have no way to look inside of his brain and tell that he is doing it for selfish reasons and not the more logical reasons(imo) that he stated.

yah exactly and look how it shapes the world, fiction and bullshit are what run the machine, we need our own bullshit to combat it.  This guy isn't just anybody which is what makes his story so useful, i mean i guess he mostly is anybody but he happens to be a person on a topic that can potentially sway a few people

so sure he may or may not be greedy, but to support a positive movement wouldn't it make sense to let it slide

and with all the other vets that have stepped forward after coming home

you're not even being relevant to the topic any more. I'm sure this soldier would prefer to live in fantasy land too after seeing how much this one sucks, but he is the one being realistic about war here. It shouldn't be happening and he spoke out against it. I don't see why you continue to try to discredit his attempts as useless, inaccurate, and greedy.

it seems to be a proven system for our government to spread lies and it works:shrug:  altho i think thats a little bit different, depending on what bullshit were talking in specifics.

here we have a man basically showing examples of why war is wrong, weither it happened that way or not doesn't matter, because we all know it does happen somewhere. 

if he did it for greed it just shows how currupt the system is anyway, its really a win win for insight

but really i doubt anyone wants to be caught on video or assosicated with anything like that, so i dont feel it really strips anything away, good people will still do the right thing, and shitty people will do the shit.  bad things in society always make the headlines before the good, people like drama.

a couple of people will buy into it, thermite brought town the towers,
energy weapons in space brought them down, george bush went and planted
explosives himself... but the number the buy into it will normally be
under a couple of percent

here we have a man that was discharged early, he sought a medical, he
fucked around and hurt himself in order to get it, he got out and they
didnt want to pay for surgery, he finally found a doctor that would tell
the DoD that he needed surgery, doctor shopping works, eventually one
will do what ever you want... anyway the military paid for the surgery
but the didnt give him a big settlement like he was hoping for so now
he's putting his face in the public to get some recognition

what kind of honorable guy this dickhead is, one of his other buddies
was in his unit, he wasnt there the day of the incident but he's all
fired up about it too just as if he was

Man good thing I wasn't flying that thing, I'd be so spooked that I was going to die, I'd kill every human being on the ground that wasn't identified as a US soldier; period.

I know it's sad the guys died; they were important. But if you were flying a 100 million dollar (or something like that) piece of equipment that your countrymen pay for, would you rather kill something or have yourself die and destroy something very expensive? I'd be more pissed about damaging the aircraft then dieing.
