IMO, war is not good or necessary. If we could only open our minds and shift our perspectives, we would see that war as we know it  is certainly never ever a necessity. Mushrooms can definitely teach us this if we are open to it.

Of course the archetype of war, fighting and clashing will probably exist in the human psyche until we evolve beyond it but that does not mean we must carry those feelings and thoughts into the physical world. The thought is ludicrous. You are right, we HAVE obtained many comforts and goods from war but what is the price we pay for this? Are our imaginations and wills so weak that we can not find a better way to have these things? I don't think so.

I really believe we are approaching fast the edge of something really big. some of us are going to fall and some of us are going to fly.  War will not give us wings, but peace and the action of lovingkindness will. :heart: It is a choice we each need to make individually.

War = Good (for those funding the war and manipulating the people into fighting it for them as a means of imperialism)

it is not war itself that develops technology, it is the military-industrial complex that pours billions of dollars into research and develop of anything that might be remotely related to "defense." So, in actuality, it is not war or even the military-industrial complex that drives technology, it is simply the massive subsidation of research/development itself. This can be accomplished without the war machine; "defense" is simply the excuse for the government to hand out billions to private companies (and for private companies to take the money).

I hold the position that tech research/development via military-industrial complex is entirely inefficient and the funds can better be used elsewhere. As for R & D, I think private companies can better accomplish the task.

No real need for the war machine. Private companies could accomplish just the same (perhaps more) without the baggage of high taxes, unnecessary research, war profiteering, and the glutony of subsidies.
