Face It People WAR = GOOD

Yes war is hell and its a shame we have to kill each other in order to progress technological. But that's the way life on this planet is. We are not forced to get off are lazy asses and progress unless are survival depends on it. We have war to thank for so many things.

The day we learn that are economic well being and in turn are lives are at risk if we don't make technological progression even if there is no war is the day we actually progress and survive as a whole.

So ask your self not what is war good for but what has war been good for :smirk: and I bet you could wright several books and still have enough info to make a movie and a series of shows on the history channel.

Some people just dont understand that other poeple in the world are just killing people for no
reason.
they want it all to be peacful non violent wehere everyone gets along.
the problem is the world is not like that.
i hope one day it will and its heading in the right direction but it doesnt just happen.
some people dont care if they kill.
When theres sometyhing u believe in u have to fight for it, cause if u dont the other people
who dont believe in it will kill u and then what can u do about it?
nothing.
its easy to say oh ur wrong blah blah blah.
u people are so stupid for going to war and shit.
rememeber the good ole nazi's??
we didnt want to get into that.
it kept getting worse and worse.
and if we didnt act when we did.
the world would be a completely different place right now.
AND THATS A FACT!
were all lucky if u ask me.
some people need to be put into place.

Yes very true. I also want to say I'm speaking mostly about wars the US has got involved with. almost all the time we have benefited economically in the long run because of the information and advancement we made while fighting the war. And come on if are economy is nothing are defense is nothing and we die we must advance to survive and war is a major motivator for advancement.

Now there are wars that are just senseless like Israel and Palestine, nothing good will ever come from that. Except for maybe more advanced societies seeing what has/is going on over there and not making the same mistakes.

simple things like the mill and shit made us.
if we didnt have these simple machines we would be nothing now.
being able to bore a piece of steel. thats why we are so powerful today.
these simple machines brought about at war time are taken for granted and we
owe it all to war.
war boosted our economy wich made us powerful for war.

It seems two people can disagree and rate this thread a one but they can't comment and maybe tell me why its not a good thread?

Am I wrong? If so please do share, If you say something that makes sense to me I'm one to change my opinion. But I do kinda feel like I'm correct here, I could be wrong. I guess the question is... Were would we be today without the two world wars?

Again I'm not supporting war I'm just recognizing what I see as the truth.

I would disagree with the title of your post because I don't believe war is a good thing. It may be inevitable but certainly not inherently good.

I disagree. That may be the way it is, but that's not the way it has to be.
War is 99% of the time from either Greed, Territorial Disputes, Miscommunication, or a combination of the three.

You're right we wouldn't be developing weapons of war, death and destruction i.e nuclear bombs, fighter jets, etc etc.. instead we would be working on right-brained technology focused on harmony with the Earth and each other. What a shame.

Perhaps war is neccessary when someone invades you and you have no choice. But otherwise I fail to see the benefits of war. Most wars are controlled from the beginning (from both sides) in order to enhance the economy so that those with their fingers in the cookie jar get a fatter paycheck. The little man gets fucked, while innocent people die. FUCK WAR.

Not at all, I'm saying we would not be as technologically advanced as we are today without it. It speeds and in a way funds research. Who would have funded the research in synthetic rubber? Do you know how important it is we have synthetic rubber? It was developed because natural rubber was scarce and we needed to find a way to produce more of it. Well then after the war we now have the abilities to build more tires and this in turn lets us grow.

There are so many different things we take for granted that we depend on to live in the 21 century that may not have been developed as fast without or at all without the war and army funding for research.

I do, war is good not because killing each other is a good thing. Its good because it forced us to make progression.

I also think that today we don't need war to progress. We just need to learn from past mystakes and find new ways to fund reaserch of new technologies.

The legalization and taxation of marijuana is a good start :wink:
