So I will be taking a Taxi ride for an hour from a small town to Albany so I can catch a plane. Thing is, I've never ridden a taxi alone, especially so far. So simple question... alone,do I ride in the front seat or the back?

Depends of the driver, and you. If it was a cool person, maybe you sit up front. I was a cabbie once, and i preferred folks in the back. Shit, being an hour ride, i'd ask if he smoked and pack a bowl with him! I used to be the smoke out taxi! I'd run folks short distances for a blunt.

The only time I ride in the front is if I'm in a group and there is no other room.

In the city, an individual will almost always ride in the back.  That thick bullet proof glass does little to prevent being robbed if the person is sitting right beside you.

btw:  I hope you've worked out the fee beforehand.  An hour in a cab sounds insanely expensive, especially since it sounds like you'll be on the highway.

Me neither, but i could look at a person and tell. It was as hitty job, but i worked the system and was banking $100 cash a day, smoking schwag blunts and bowls of the crippler all day. Not to mention nodding on OC occasionally. Strippers like to pay with pain pills!

I guess I assumed it was bulletproof.

Either way it was thick, and there was a little trap door to slide money through.  I remember the first time I saw it, I was like "wtf"?

This was in downtown baltimore.

its a 100 dollar ride. I have no bus service out here on trail and just have to deal with the fee. Do I still tip btw? I hear that when yoi work out the fee beforehand, you don't tip.

I would ask upfront. Make it a verbal agreement. Long rides, i'd ask for half the money upfront. If the customer is honest and the cabbie too, that should be a great way to work it. And super, tell the cab company you want a nonsmoking taxi (if you dont smoke of course) and would prefer a decent cabbie that is near your age. I mean, you may get whoever, but for $100 you should at least ask for a wellspoken person that doesnt reek of curry.

Tipping should be agreed beforehand also. It makes the ride smoother, you're not thinking about what he'll say, and he's not thinking about the hipster in the back not tipping. It makes it icy, cab rides can be fun, if done right. Maybe he'll stop and let you get a beer or something!

I believe for a long journey, the tip is usually a blowjob.

The question is, can you smoke pot in the cab?

1 hour road trip without cannabis is insane.
