Peyote filament retraction [Video]

What's going on here then? Peyote filaments immediately retract on stimulation. Is this an attempt to stop an insect self-polinating the flower? If so, surely it's abit late once the insect has already moved around a bit, and in any case some of the anthers retract onto the stigma, rather than under it.
