Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan

"The Israeli intelligence agency Mossad has failed in an attempt to assassinate Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a Jordanian weekly says.

Informed sources in Turkey say that the Mossad plot has been foiled by the country's securty forces, al-Manar quoted a report in the most recent edition of the Al-Majd weekly as saying."


My 2 Cents: I look forward to hearing more about this from more sources so we can get a better idea of what exactly went down. If this is true, and if Israel's Mossad has been caught trying to assassinate the Turkish Prime Minister, then I am damn glad that they were caught doing so. If this is not true, then shame on those who would start such a rumor. Either way, the truth will eventually come out, and I am glad to know that despite the censorship of BBC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC, etc., that there are still real and independent media outlets out there trying to report honest news. Mature discussion is welcomed.

I felt like I should clarify to everyone that I am skeptical of these accusations against Israel even though I think they could very possibly be true. I think much more journalism and research is needed on this topic, so hopefully we can learn more about the evidence that has lead this group of Turkish government / authorities / people to accuse Israel of organizing an attempted assassination. (it reminded me of these similar accusations put forth by Dubai, but again, nothing has been conclusively proven though, and I truly believe in "innocence until proven guilty".)

I do not hate Jews or anyone for that matter. I only like things to various degrees. Ice cream I like very much. Corruption I do not like at all.

PressTV is just one more non-corporate media outlet that is reporting news to me. I do not take any single sources word for it, so I monitor a wide variety of sources. From BBC to Al Jazeera, from MSNBC.com to Media Freedom International, from VeteransToday to Associated Press, I have an RSS feed reader monitoring over 20 sources from a variety of biases. This way I can get somewhat objective news by looking through all of it :smile:

I think that blindly rejecting the contents of this article just because it is linked to Iran is closed-minded and unscientific. Scientific analysis requires looking at and considering all available evidence, including controversial evidence. That is what I try to do, to look at all available evidence and share the stuff I find to be most important. Furthermore, I admitted that just because this article came out does not prove anything negative about Israel, but it does suggest it and it deserves further investigation in my opinion.

Innocent until proven guilty I say, but I still found the article important nonetheless.

On the other hand, it still amazes me how quickly uninformed pro-Israel folks who have no clue of how strong of an influence AIPAC has over American Foreign Policy and Budget (despite the tiny percentage of people that AIPAC represents) will say non-evidence-based anti-Iranian things, such as, "They want to WIPE Israel off the map, and once the Iranian president even said so!"

That is a rumor, a rumor that was heavily pushed by the U.S. corporate media. Check it out...
