Airbags are expensive, let alone the transmission that's probably fucked.

I had the same situation happen to me, thinking it was a lane when it was a shoulder and then nearly hitting a sign. I barely missed it, probably because there was no rain.

Could of been much worse though right?

CV axles are actually really cheap to replace and you could do it yourself.
