I've been shaking it every day since I put it in. I went away for a couple of days and it's only today after checking it that I've noticed it clumping. Should I not have been shaking it until I noticed mycelium?

yeah supposedly it makes it harder for spores to find each other to mate and form mycelium.

You can overmist the first time. Just once, at the beginning mist the hell out of it. Then let it all evaporate off. If theres nothing visible falling off anyway, no big deal..I was picturing all of it flying off.

Shake jars only once at 30%. And I wouldnt shake BRF cakes, but thats me, unless your using grain.

Still cant find camera. The one cake with the wicked pin set is looking nice. I'll deffo make sure I do the heavy mist next time I roll.

Looked at my colonising jars today. About half have visible signs of growth in them. Long as they dont contam I'll be a happy camper  :popcorn:

CAMERA LOCATED! PHEW! Thought I lost it.

Heres some pics from this morning.

Still have three cakes with no action. Is a redunk in order for them? I dont think those three have done ANYTHING. I wonder if they stalled during consolidation? They've more like a 3/4 pint cake I think.

I just moved them more into the light from the window hoping to induce pinning on the 3 that havent done anything yet. If that doesnt work soon, I might cut them in half and see whats going on.

Wheres the best deal for em? I was thinking that my self.

Also on the 3 cakes that havent done anything. Ends up at least two tried to pin. They look like they aborted. Blackhead pins on top. What should I do with em? pick and 12 hour dunk?

I must have over misted them. Doesnt seem like they can cope. Everything else is looking fine. Shook a really small jar of grain today. Was at 20%. Only like a 100ml jar or something though. Its a grain lc experiment.

MRCA, ebay, maybe appliedmicroscience have some but i make my own bags, used my last unicorn bag like a week ago i probably wont buy any for ages now.

Yeah they're aborts. Havent grown in days. Finally saw some side pinning on one of the three. Going to give them a few days and see how they do.

I could have picked yesterday, but I decided to leave em. Had one big one that I should have made a print from but didn't. Its dropped all over my perl. I can just rinse it off though right? Its not big deal is it?

Probably going to make an lc with one of the shrooms from the big cluster.

Batteries are dead, going to pop some on charge and take a few pics later.

Oh , and how are you making the bags? I'm thinking cooking bags. How would you do the vent? Polyfil, twist and zip tie?

pics of b+ harvest. took these pics other day. Found some trich on one cake. Through 3 b+ cakes out. I'm thinking I'm not liking b+. Not going to grow it again for a while. I got other races to work with.

hope i get some fruits off these 6 other cakes before the mold sets in. Just dnr should be fruiting here in a day or so. gonna go really light on the mist and try to fan as much as i can to keep it at bay i hope.

I said the same thing when I grew it..pretty much same results..sparse pinning..just a few huge fruits. They were always slow as hell for me too.

Yeah I'm over it. Got a few ml of spore syringe left so maybe some day. Right now I'm on Brazil and Vietnam. From what I saw out of this grow the Vietnam was nice. wish I would have cloned and printed this one nice cluster i had. Not to large of fruits but the cluster was a beaut.

I just did some g2g today for my first time. I hope it goes well. If not it was a lesson. I got a shit load of rye so I had to try it.

I picked about 100liters of horse manure out the field by hand the other day. hope it lasts a while. I'm trying to dry it out really well so that i can store it. I'm gonna do a search for horse manure storage and see what i come up with.

Store dry in a tupperware bin. I just used some thats about 2 or 3 years old..it works fine as long as its dried out.

Brazil was always one of my favorites.

Nice tip. I got some in a bag in my room. Going to try to get the rest all nice and dry outside and bring it in before it rains. I might have to bring it in and then but it back out till its all dry.

Well how dry does it need to be? IT was mostly dry from the field anyways. some of the bigger pieces have a bit of moisture in them still though. I've been trying to break it up a bit here and there and stir it a bit to speed up the process.

I would not store unless it was REALLY dry. Break up as many nuggets as you can. Should be a nice light brown throughout.

Well a bit of an update. I've got loads of those mutants like I posted before, the one with the bent up side of the cap.  They're different stains too so I know that its not genetics. I'm trying to get some good pics.




I think its from being too dry. The smallest of the cakes, the one that I've gotten the most mush off of so far is bone dry. Gonna have to do a short dunk for it. I'm going out of town from Friday morning to Tuesday, so I'm trying to pull as much as I can before that.

Also Got a few cakes that are invitro pinning. Should I leave them in the jars till I get back on Tuesday? I can get someone to mist and fan for me if I need to.

  Even a few grain jars with knotting and pinning. Might be from contams, I didn't PC the tiny jar with the two mushies growing in it.


Thinking about getting a mono made up next week too. I have too many rye jars. I cant see me fitting 15 pf cakes and enough trays to use about 10 liters of rye spawn in a 110 liter Sg.
