I've got a 22Qt. PC and i can do 24 1/2 pints at a time( 7 Qts @ once)..I jacked around with boiling pots and steamers for awhile and said 'fuck it'..the bottom line is a Canner is the only way to go if your gonna make this a serious hobby. Otherwise, its gonna be a pain. As for the microwave, i only have used it for sterilizing soil but maybe it would work..GoodLuck

microwaves can work but they can be inconsistent.
often the difference between success and failure is only 1 minute more or less.
better off steaming/pressure cooking.
