Rape is a violent crime with much more serious psychological problems attached.

If I got my ass beat for no reason I'd probably be shaken for a while and start carrying a weapon. Beyond that I don't think it would do much to me mentally. If I got raped? Oh man I could see where that would really fuck me up (especially being a guy).


While a violent crime COULD be horrible psychologically for many people, it seems as though rape has a lot more negativity than that. That's why I'm surprised with these laws. Violent crimes however can be on the same level as rape. It just depends on the situation.

I think I heard something about some new legislation moving through. Something about being able to hold sex offenders indefinitely if it's believed they aren't rehabilitated.

well the thing about that is that "rape" isn't always penetration. anything could qualify as rape, really.. inappropriate advances, fondlings, hell even accidentally tripping over your shoolace and landing into a girl's vagina could be considered rape in this day in age :shrug:

Regardless of whether or not that would be rape (I'm not sure but I doubt forcefully fingering a chick would be as bad legally as forcefully fucking her) there's a difference between "If I had the choice..." and the actual situation.

If I'm walking down the street and some dude unexpectedly came and either A) Whooped my ass or B) Forcefully stuck his finger in my butt I think I would be able to deal with the ass whooping faster. Either way it's bad but it's generally going to be more emotionally damaging to have some kind of sexual assault happen. You may disagree but, to be quite honest, you're wrong.
