I've also tried to report two things since I've been here, and nothing was done about either of them.  One was a rating referring to a black person as "farm equipment," and the other was an extremely inappropriate picture in the naked women thread.  I even PM'd a mod about it, and got no response.

Doesn't look like anyone cares.

I don't know what you're expecting the mods to do here Niteowl, and obviously I'm going to say that I think you're being way too sensitive and demanding.  The nature of the Pub anymore, and it has been this way for years now, is that it's full of kids and burn outs who don't have a lot of self restraint about the contents of their posts.

Sounds like another classic case of, you guessed it, people taking shit way too seriously on the internet.  To achieve the sort of internet utopian hippie society you seem to envision and expect from the Pub, you would practically need a bevy of mods that pretty much stayed online in shifts and thoroughly monitored all threads.  Life just isn't all PLUR and hand holding hippie crap and you just aren't going to get that here either.  The more moderation the better isn't always the solution.  Sometimes you just have to use the tools available to you, the ability to ignore people and hide threads, because you just aren't always going to be able to rely on mods to shelter you from all exposure to negativity or sarcasm.  Getting a sense of humor might help, and also allowing yourself to let petty shit go. 

Newbie does a great job keeping some of the pointless crap to a minimum, you should be thankful they modded him and he has such a good sense of judgment about it rather than whining about how the mods aren't "doing their jobs" well enough to suit you.

Truthfully, in the examples posted, there were some posts that were off topic and derailed but the logical progression was there.  There were no insults or flame wars that I saw.  While there are numerous posts in the pub that are just chock full of ignorance and disrespect, I feel the moderators do a pretty good job taking care of them.  And if they miss a couple, just do what I do and forget about them.  Sometimes you just have to chuckle a bit and move on.
