What do people think of having a bullshit archive that no body could post in, but posts could be moved to? We've always steered clear of having a flame forum because it's just not a happy thing. Which is why I'd like to avoid creating one to be posted in. Under this proposed system, any threads that were deemed bullshit would be deleted from their current forum and moved to the bullshit archive where no one would be able to add to or edit them, but they would be in public view. Please post any thoughts on this here. Later.------------------

Well, the bullshit forum idea was to keep the moderators who don't like the idea of deleting threads from complaining any further. I say deletion is a better idea..but a lot of moderators are strongly apposed to it.[This message has been edited by DXMDemon (edited June 25, 2000).]

the archive is a good idea, but i think a forum may be more appropriate for flames where the parties doing the flaming don't want to quit yet. they can just take it to a new forum where noone else has to listen unless they want. if we just archive them, there will be fights left unfinished, and they'll just pop up later.Link ------------------

I agree with link.. but i like aphex's idea.. so i'm kind of torn between. I find the problem as this.. if the trolls really just want to cause havoc here, i dont see how this will solve anything. They'll just start up a new thread.. ban the nick, they make another. I think it would work for those who find themselves in the middle of a flame, and dont really want to screw with this place too much.. But i doubt it will help with those who are here simply to piss people off.vivid.

I've expressed my opinion on this issue several times, but here it goes once more; i think a wastebin forum to move troll posts, flame threads etc to would be the best solution, so yes I support the idea Aphex  also i agree it should be a readonly forum. This would require active moderating, so good look to the moderators

I like the read only idea. This avoids the "flame pit" mentality that I've always disagreed with.The benefit of this is obvious: no unsightly locked threads, as many have complained about. I even have a possible name for it: "The Shit Heap" ------------------

While I agree my Shit Heap (nice, Captain ) idea would be part of the solution, its not the whole solution. I still think we'll need much tougher moderation.

okay yeah, my mind has been turned. A trash thread is okay. Before I was opposed, but with this mornings rash of clever youknowhat I think they're at it all they can and a partial solution won't enrage them to worse.I hope. Or we could chill a week and see what happens. By the way, on the drool donkey/shroomery who's got what feature first pride thing, I do believe the trash-bin area was suggested on the Shroomery a long time ago. And I highly suspect these stallone/frank characters are trolls from DD.
